1. Tell us something about you (education & experience) and the business you started
I studied MBA and worked for 3 years before co-founding Housepital with my husband Divyanu.
2. How old is your company and how did you think of this concept? What problem are you trying to solve?
Housepital is the brainchild of my husband and co- founder, Divyanu Gupta. He has extensive experience in health care. Our family also runs a hospital and we noticed a gap in patient recovery. We observed that a lot of patients get readmitted because they do not get the right kind of patient care and support at home.
When we analysed data, we realised that this was a prevalent problem across hospitals. From the health perspective, readmissions or multiple visits to the hospital opens patients to a lot of infections, especially long-term patients and therefore unnecessary.
And of course, we wanted to provide the comfort of recovering at home. So, we started from providing the right kind of manpower support in terms of nursing, caretakers and physiotherapists and gradually grew to include ambulance services, labs and diagnostics like Xray and ECG.
Now we have medicine delivery and also conduct minor procedural changes with equipment. Â Our specialization is in Chronic Patient Rehabilitation. We are a supporting service for a hospital.
3. What is your business model (how do you make money)? Would be great if you can share some actual data like revenue growth (QoQ or YoY), active user / customers, new initiatives etc
We were working on this idea from 2016- 17 but formally launched in 2019. And since then, we have seen a substantial growth. We are not funded hence bootstrapping the entire operation. We train, and deploy our employees at the patient’s house. We take care of invoicing and employee salaries.
We have provided patient care to 17000 people so far across Delhi – NCR. We worked quite a lot during Covid as well and also taken care of critical patients. We also have a lot of inventory for our equipment so we rent them and even sell.
We have added a fleet of ambulances so we can provide end to end support for people. For labs and medicines, we have tie ups with Tata, 1MG, Apollo etc. Right now, our services are limited to the Delhi- NCR areas. We started small to understand the challenges before we expand.Â
4. Top 3 steps taken by you to attract and retain talent? Explain how you develop / nurture talent in the company?
We have an old school approach to retaining our talent which is treating them as family. We do not believe in hierarchy or creating a structure or difference. We leave an open environment where everyone can talk and strongly feel that this approach can retain our employees.

We currently have 50 employees on our payroll and have a pool of 700- 800 medical professionals that we deploy. We have people who have been working with us right from the day we started the company.

5. Tell us about your workspace (own office, coworking office, managed office or anything else like home office or hybrid working environment) and the reason for opting for themÂ
Though we have tie up with two hospitals, one in Faridabad and one in South Delhi, The Office Pass (TOP) is our first exposure to a coworking space and our entire backend team works from here.
6. What do you like to do in your free time?Â
I enjoy baking. My husband and I believe in giving back to the society so we work on a lot of social causes together. We are both Rotarians and I am president elect of our Rotary club. Â We are fond of animals and love spending time with our four dogs.
7. Tell us about your experience with The Office Pass (TOP)
We are enjoying the experience of working from The Office Pass (TOP). It’s a beautiful location and a well-designed space. We find it extremely comfortable. We’ve had many interactions with Nikhil and the team is very easy to work with.
